Summer Reading Program 2009 - "Be Creative @ Your Library"

June 10 (Wednesday) 11:00 a.m. - Become an Artist! Become a Gilbert Summer Reading Program Participant! Today you'll receive your summer reading program materials and being a summer of fun by creating your own mask and edible wand.

June 15 (Monday) 4:00 p.m. Hans Meyer, Musician. Become a Singer! Sing along with Hans and friends.

June 24 (Wednesday) 11:00 a.m. Learn to Draw. Become a Visual Artist! All artists begin by learning basic drawing skills. Ken Asselin will teach you how! You'll also make a creative snack!

July 1 (Wednesday) 10:30 a.m. Northern Lights Orchestra. Become a Musician! Prize-winning young musicians from around the world are coming to Gilbert! They will be performing Hansel and Gretel, a musical interpretation of the popular fairy tale. Check them out @ their website: Northern Lights Orchestra.

July 9 (Thursday) 2:00 p.m. Cheney & Mills, Jugglers. Become a Performer! Cheney & Mills, comedians and jugglers (featured on the Discovery Channel and CBS This Morning) will make you laugh and amaze and astound you with their antics!

July 15 (Wednesday) 11:00 a.m. The Art of Science. Become a Scientist! Science experiments are creative and fun - and some are tasty! Be prepared to get messy and wet!

July 22 (Wednesday) 11:00 a.m. Arts & Crafts. Become an Artisan! Make your own sculptures, paintings and other creative crafts to be displayed in our art show.

July 29 (Wednesday) 11:00 a.m. Art Show and Dance. Now you're an Artist! Dress in your very best for an exhibit of your very own art work. Your family is invited! There will be dancing and refreshments. Prizes for the top readers this summer will be awarded.

Monday thru Friday (10:30 am - 6 pm).

Saturday (10:30 am - 1:30 pm).
