CHRISTMAS TEA AND OPEN HOUSE - December 11, 2007 (11 am to 4 pm). Entertainment in the afternoon will be provided by Bob Lind.

BOOK SIGNING - On December 19, 2007 (11 am to 3 pm & 6 pm to 7:30 pm), Tom Phillipich will be signing copies of his new book, "Gilbert's State Champions - The 1951 Basketball Buccaneers." Stop by and pick up a last minute gift for the holidays, as well as talk to the author and learn more about this historic event.

Story time, class visits, wolf awareness. Celebrate with children books, authors, and illustrators.

• Thursday the 15th - R.E.A.D. Therapy Dog Visit

October 2007 Events at Gilbert Public Library

ESSAY CONTEST - $50 prize for the winner! Subject: Why I Love Gilbert. (Use only 50 words of less). Being put on by library director Amy Hay. Gilbert's residents of all ages can participate. For your entry include your name and phone number, and bring or mail it to the Gilbert Public Library by 11 am on October 16, 2007. The winner will be announced at 5:50 pm on October 16, 2007.

TEEN READ WEEK - October 14 - 20, 2007. Laugh Out Loud (LOL) @ Your Library. Start reading for the FUN of it! Contests, quizzes, prizes and of course FOOD!

TEEN PROGRAM - October 16, 2007 (5 pm - 7 pm).
